Albert M. La Point
Albert M. La Point was born at Huntsville, Stuben county, New York, on February 16, 1849. Later the family moved to Illinois.

On August 12 1864, he was enrolled as a private in E company, Fourth Regiment of Michigan Volunteer Infantry to serve three years or during the war. He was honorably discharged from the service of the United States on July 13, 1865.

On December 10, 1879, he was married to Miss Mary Elizabeth Curtis at Unionville, Illinois. To this union one son was born in Morrison, Illinois, who was named William H. La Point and now resides in Los Angeles, California.

Albert La Point, his wife and son came to Wood River about the year 1898. He worked at his trade as a carpenter. About two years ago his devoted wife passed away. He has been in failing health for the past four months and on Monday, January 19, 1920, at 1:20 a.m. he was called into life beyond.

The funeral services were held in the M. E. church in Wood River on Wednesday afternoon, January 21st. The sermon was preached by the pastor of the church and the remains were laid to rest in the Wood River cemetery.

Mrs. Harriett M. Mitchell came down from Lexington Saturday, called here by the serious illness of the late Albert M. LaPoint. she will remain in Wood River the balance of the week in order to make final disposition of Mr. LaPoint’s personal property.

I will be at the residence of the late Albert M LaPoint on Friday and Saturday of this week to dispose of his carpenter tools, household furniture. This consists of bed, cook stove, china closet, book case, chairs, table and other articles of furniture. Most of it is practically new.—Mrs. Harriett M. Mitchell.

Curtis, 45, printer, born Ohio and mother Armenia, 42, born Vermont with siblings, Edward or Edmund, age 19, Carrie B., age 12 and Hattie M., age 6.

1900 Census at Wood River, Hall co., NE with wife Mary E., age 42 born Illinois, and son William H, age 18 born Dec 1881 in Illinois. His father was French Canadian and mother was from New York.

1910 Census Los Angeles Assembly District 73, Los Angeles, California. Albert M. Lapoint, 60, born NY, Mary E., 52, born IL.

1920 Census in Wood River, Hall, Nebraska, age 70,widowed. Living alone. Census date 5 January 1920.
