Wood River, Neb., June 14–(Special Dispatch)–Mrs. Jeanette Rounds, 39, wife of John E. Rounds, farmer residing two miles east of Wood River, died early Saturday morning at a hospital in Rochester, Minn. For the past two years she had been in poor health, and about two weeks ago was taken to the Mayo hospital at Rochester. On Tuesday last she submitted to an operation for a tumor of the brain, but the operation was only partially successful, owing to the fact that the tumor had grown to the skull. Bleeding was so profuse that the operation could not be continued and a blood transfusion was necessary. Mr. Rounds and two children had been with her, (but) returned here Friday evening, Mr. Rounds planning to return to Rochester by train today, when the message came announcing her death. Since her health had failed every possible care, attention had been given in the hope of benefiting her condition but to no avail.
Surviving are the bereaved husband, five children and her parents, who reside in Minnesota. The body will be shipped here for burial, arriving Sunday. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.
