. . .Her remains were taken to Wood River Tuesday afternoon and the funeral will take place Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home. Besides the husband she leaves to mourn her loss three sons here, George, Arthur and Teddy, and two daughters, Olive and Ruth. Two sons reside in California, Rudie and Howard. The latter is enroute home to attend the funeral. She leaves an aged mother, Mrs. Powell of Alda, and two sisters, Mrs. Bonson of Grand Island and Mrs. Henry Rusland of this place.

Mrs. Martha Powell received the sad news of the death of her daughter, Mrs. Don Smeaton, of Wood River which occurred Sunday at Excelsior Springs, Mo. Mrs. Smeaton was taken there about a month ago in the interest of her health. The body was brought to the home and interment was to be made in the Wood River cemetery Friday. Two sons were called home from California. Mrs. Smeaton was well known at Alda having been raised here and was well liked by all who knew here. The entire community extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.

The remains of Halo Smeaton arrived in the city this morning en route to Wood River where interment will be made. Mr. Smeaton passed away in Excelsior Springs, Mo.
