Edward John Batie, 90, of 5034 15th Av. N. E. died yesterday at his home after a short illness.
Mr. Batie was born in North Andover, Wis. He went to Denver as a young man and was a member of the Denver Police Force from 1892 until 1917. Later he farmed in Nebraska and moved here 15 years ago.
Mr. Batie was a life member of the University Lodge No. 141, F. & A. M. and a member of University Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, and two daughters. Mrs Betty Manning and Miss Harriett Batie, all of Seattle; two sons, Edward L., Grand Island, Neb., and W. A. Batie, Centralia, a half brother and a half sister, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Masonic services will be held at 1 o’clock in Forkner’s Cremation will follow.
