Eyre, Edna (Burmood)

Death: September 26, 2003

Edna A. Eyre, 90, of Glendale, Wis., formerly of Wood River, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003. 

Visitation will be from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River, followed by graveside services at Wood River Cemetery. 

Feerick Funeral Home of Milwaukee was in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Eyre was born March 12, 1913, in Wood River to Otto and Minna Burmood. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lowry Eyre. 

Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, John Mitchell and Susan Marie Eyre, and two sisters-in-law, Oswin Eyre and Francis Whitney. 

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Robert Joseph, John Lowry Eyre and Neil Robert (Maria) Zeinz; a great-grandchild, Nathan Zeinz; and nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

Mrs. Eyre graduated from Hastings College, where she met Joe. They were married in Wood River on Sept. 5, 1937. Edna retired in 1979 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she had been the business manager for the School of 
Engineering. 

She was a member of North Shore Presbyterian Church in Shorewood for more than 50 years. 

She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Ida Eyre, Delma Barbre, John Eyre, Rheva Robertson, Florence Koontz and Eunice Peterson.
