Former Mayor Dies After Long Illness
Christian E. Jensen, 69, who recently came her with Mrs. Jensen from Wood River, died at the old family home Sunday, after a lingering illness. The body was taken to Wood River where it was laid to rest at two o’clock Wednesday. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania. He was engaged in farming as a young man, northwest of Nelson, and for some 40 years following operated as a miller in Nelson and Wood River. He was elected mayor of Nelson April 5th, 1921 and re-elected April 4, 1922. His wife survives him.
