Calista was the 3rd child of nine born to Noah Bliss and Elizabeth Martin. (Vermont birth record indicates she was born on 11 July 1808.) She married James Pratt about 1829 with whom she had 3 children. Upon James’ death, she married Josephus Morgan about 1841, and had an additional 3 children (all sons). In the early 1870’s she and Josephus moved from Vermont to Nebraska where their eldest son lived. She and her husband were part of the original Methodist Church congregation in Shelton. She and Josephus lived out their days in the Buffalo/Shelton/Gardner/Wood River area staying alternately on their own and with their children.
