PERRY J. PAULK PASSES AWAY
Died – Saturday, March 23, 1912, at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, of Bright’s disease, Perry J. Paulk of Wood River, aged 60 years, 10 months and 22 days. For several month past Mr. Paulk had been in very poor health and about two months ago his brother, E. F. Paulk, accompanied him to Omaha and he was placed in the Clarkson Hospital that he might have every care and attention, but despite the efforts of doctors and nurses, he passed away as above stated.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church of this city Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock conducted by Rev. Virgil C. Wright, in the presence of a goodly number or sorrowing relatives and friends. Interment took place in the Wood River cemetery. . .
Perry J. Paulk was born in Coolville, Ohio, May 1, 1851, where he spent his boyhood. When he grew to manhood he became an engineer on the steamboats of the Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee rivers and followed that calling for some twenty years. About eight years ago he came to Wood River, making his home part of the time with his brother on the farm and part of the time in Wood River, being unmarried. He was employed in farming and general work, always kept busy. One brother, E. F. Paulk of Wood River, and two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Frazer of Colo., and Mrs. T. W. Dunfee, of Oklahoma, survive him. The deceased was a kindly disposed man, honest, industrious and leaves a wide circle of friends and acquaintance to mourn his demise.
