SOUTH FORK, Colo. – Val J. Potter, 56, of South Fork, Colo., passed away on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at the Rio Grande Hospital in Del Norte, Colo.
Memorial services was held at The Chapel of the South Fork on Sept., 17, 2012. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in Wood River City Cemetery. Strohmayer’s Funeral Home of Monte Vista, Colo., is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Potter was born July 6, 1956, in Grand Island to Macyle “Le” Shepherd of South Fork, Colo. and the late Richard G. Decker of Grand Island.
Val is survived by a daughter, Susan Miller; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Cheri Engle, Joshua and Nichole Engle, all of Omaha; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Jill Decker of Hiram, Ohio, Barry and Robyn Decker of Grand Island; one sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Dan Waetzig of Garden City, Kan.; her mother, Macyle “Le” Shepherd and stepfather, Wayne Jefferson of South Fork, Colo.; four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, maternal and paternal grandparents.
