Minnie K. Quisenberry, 90, of Wood River died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Minnie was born May 11, 1921, in Grand Island to Wallace and Pauline (Wolfe) Perdew.

Survivors are: husband, Paul; daughters and sons-in-law, Jacque and Dave Jacox of Omaha and Janet and Sherman Carr of Gibbon; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Ida Quisenberry of Wood River; grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Stephanie and Nick Vondrak of Omaha, Paula and Roy Patrick of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Matt Jacox and his fiancĂ©, Leslie Root, of Omaha, Holly and Henry Valdes of Omaha, Abby and Jason Evans of Imperial, Mo., Maggie Carr of Minneapolis, Minn., Jeremiah Garber of Lincoln, and Sara Quisenberry of Des Moines, Iowa; and great-grandchildren, Harry and Elizabeth Vondrak of Omaha, Julia Patrick of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Elayne, Dawson and Haley Evans of Imperial, Mo. 

Minnie grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High school in 1939. 

While working at Woolworth’s as a bookkeeper, she met Paul Quisenberry through mutual friends.They, along with two very close friends, eloped to Smith Center, Kan., and were married at the Methodist parsonage on Feb. 8, 1947. They would have been married 65 years on Feb. 8, 2012.

Minnie and Paul settled near Alda, where Paul farmed. They later moved three miles west to the family farm, where they continued to reside.

Paul and Minnie had three children, Jacque, Janet and Gary. In addition to their children they enjoyed traveling, dancing, playing cards with friends, and being involved in their community.

Minnie enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, crafts, arranging flowers, painting, playing bridge, genealogy, trying out new recipes on her family, working with her flowers, her friends and worrying about all of her family members.

Minnie was very involved in the community as an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Wood River, Rachel Circle, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and several bridge clubs, and was 4-H club leader. Minne and Paul served as Guardians of Jobs Daughters.

Interment was in the Wood River Cemetery, Wood River, NE.
