Wood River Items
Sunday the people of this community were called to mourn the loss of one of their most respected citizens. Rev. James Ryan was taken ill about two months ago and since that time the disease continued to work its ravages till death claimed the body and the soul was summoned to its Maker. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in the M. E. church of Wood River, conducted by Rev. C. A. Martin, of Kearney.

Death of Wood River Clergyman
Perry Ryan received word today that his father, Rev. J. R. Ryan, of Wood River, died last night. He left on the noon train to be present at the funeral which takes place tomorrow morning at ten o’clock. Rev. C. A. Mastin (sic) will leave tomorrow morning and will conduct the services.
