SHELTON – Floyd DeWitt Smith, 93, of Shelton, died Thursday, May 3, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Shelton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mr. Smith was born Dec. 12, 1896, near Shelton to Charles and Maude Sigler Smith. He grew up on the farm and attended District 22 School. After his father’s death, he took responsibility for the family farm operation. On Nov. 2, 1947, he married Bertha Large. They lived on a farm south of Shelton until 1965 when he moved into town. She died in 1968. On June 24, 1973, Mr. Smith married Erma Sims and the couple lived in Shelton. She died Nov. 3, 1989. Mr. Smith was a member of the Shelton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Ivan (Val) Milbourne of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his wives and one sister.
