William J. “Bill” Smith Jr., 63, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Friday, May 8, 2015, at his home. A memorial service will be Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Sheri Lodel will officiate. The family will greet the public with refreshments following the service. Inurnment will be in the Wood River Cemetery with a 3:00 p.m. committal service. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Bill was born March 17, 1952, at Grand Island, Nebraska. He was the son of William J. and Loretta J. (Williams) Smith.

Brother and sister-in-law, Rich and Linda Smith of Grand Island, NE
Half-sister, Pam Sunday of Lakewood, CO
Step mother, Sharon Smith of Lakewood, CO
Others left to cherish his memory include his grandchildren, Amy, Simon, Samuel, Tabitha and Shane.
Bill was raised by his grandparents, Loren and Blanche Williams in Wood River, NE. He completed the Job Corp. in Chadron, NE. He was employed as a store manager, worked in healthcare, was a cook, an electrician, and owned and operated a small engine repair business for many years.
His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren and the time spent with them. He was an avid fisherman, loved Nebraska football and coffee clutching with his brother. He was an accomplished musician who enjoyed playing his guitar and singing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sons, Brock Smith, Nathaniel Smith, Ryan Smith and a daughter, Stephanie Smith.
