S Strausbaugh Dies After Ten Day’s Illness

Wood River, Neb, June 3 –Sylvester Strausbaugh, a resident of Wood River for the past 45 years, died at his home here about 10 am Thursday of apoplexy, without having regained consciousness following a stroke which he suffered about ten days ago. He was aged 68 years. Mr Strausbaugh was employed here as a gardener, being especially adapted to work with trees, lawns and flowers. He was also very active in musical circles and was a talented musician. For the past 40 years he had been choir leader of the Methodist church and was formerly leader of the band.

Surviving him are his widow, two daughters, Mrs Verne Plank, of Grand Island, Mrs G A Hinsdale, of Lisco, and an adopted daughter, Nellie Strausbaugh.

Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church at 2:30 pm, Friday, Rev Jay officiating. Burial will be in the Wood River cemetery.
