DEATH OF MRS. J. S. TROUT.
Mrs. C. J. S. Trout, aged fifty-three years, passed away at the home of her son, H. D. Trout, north of Wood River Tuesday morning after an extended illness. The news of her death came as a shock to many of her friends for few knew that her condition was serious. Mrs. Trout, whose maiden name was Lyvinia A. Hileman was born at Smiegburg, Pa., Dec. 28, 1853. At the age of 7 she moved with her parents to Forreston, Illinois and in 1872 moved to Hall county which has since been her home. During all of these she had resided in the vicinity. She taught school at Schauppsville and Alda for several terms. In 1874 she was united in marriage to C.J.S. Trout and they commenced housekeeping on the present Trout homestead near Wood River. (omitted here is an account of the early years of their life of the pioneer). . . Four children were born, all of whom survive the mother. They are H.A. Trout, Earl E. Trout of Oakland, California, Mrs. Josh Greenwood and Mrs. Walter Breakenridge. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church and…a good mother, a kind wife. . . Last spring an operation was performed upon her in hopes of benefiting her health and a trip to California was made for the same purpose. . . Besides her husband and children she leaves three brothers, John and Oscar Hileman of Sidney, and four sisters, Mrs. J. D. Sherer, of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. H. S. Jones and Mrs. F. E. Howe of Wood River, and Mrs. Lotta Hanigan of Greeley, Colorado. . . The funeral services will be held Friday morning at the M.E. church, Rev. K. K. Tindall of Norfolk conducting the services. . .
