Mrs. Elleen C. Williams, 56, wife of Carl Williams and a former teacher, died early this morning in a Grand Island hospital.
Funeral arrangements are pending, at the Apfel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born April 15, 1909 at Beatrice to Mr. and Mrs. Everett L. Means. She spent her childhood there and attended the Beatrice schools. She was a 1934 graduate of Peru State Teachers College.
On May 29, 1940, she and Carl Williams were married at Beatrice. They farmed near Beatrice until moving to Shickley. In 1981 they moved from Shickley to Wood River.
Mrs. Williams taught school at Cortland and Shickley, and in the English department of the local high school from 1951 until ill health forced her retirement in 1961.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors besides her husband, Carl, include one daughter, Mrs. Julie Seller of New York. N. Y.; one son, Pvt. Robert Williams, stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; and her mother, Mrs Julia Means.
She was preceded in death by her father.
