Grew up in Wood River, graduated from Wood River High School in 1947.
Military: U.S. Navy, Nov. 23, 1943 – April 9, 1946, served during World War II; achieved the rank of MMM3C.
Worked for the Atomic Energy Commission in Los Alamos, N.M., 1956 – 1963.
Married: Oct. 24, 1946, to Pauline Summers in Beloit, Kan.
Moved to Gibbon in 1965, worked for Cornhusker Ammunition Plant in Grand Island; was later transferred to Davenport, Iowa; worked at the Rock Island Arsenal; retired 1980, and moved to Gibbon Activities: member of Disabled American Veterans; enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and bowling.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Thomas of Rockford, Ill., Kenneth of Watertown, S.D., and Douglas of Sidney, N.Y.; daughters, Patricia Rayburn of Gibbon, Delores DeCamp of Sioux City, Iowa, and Kathleen Neal of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; also daughters-in-law, Patricia of Rockford, Shirley of Watertown and Mary of Sidney; sons-in-law, Joe Rayburn of Gibbon, Scott DeCamp of Sioux City and Tim Neal of Cleveland.
Was preceded in death by his brother, Alvin, and grandson, John Paul Creamer.
