Mr. Nicholas Fisher, a resident of this city for the past seven years, passed away at the St. Frances hospital about six o’clock last evening, death resulting from a complication of diseases. Although failing in health for some time Mr. Fisher was able to be about until recently. On Wednesday last he underwent an operation, since which time his condition has been serious. Mr. Fisher was born in Germany on December 18, 1842 (sic), and was 76 years of age at the time of his demise. For many years he was a resident of Wood River, where the family is well and favorably known. Later he removed to this city and has since resided here. He is survived by one daughter, Edith. His wife preceded him in death several years ago.
The remains will be taken to Wood River on Thursday, services being held from the residence of Mr. Emil Thelen, in Wood River, at 3 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be made in the Wood River cemetery. The sympathy of many friends of Miss Fisher is extended to her in her bereavement.
