Gideon, Heather Lynn (Harman)

Daughter of James Harman and Sue Margaret Smith. She grew up in Lincoln, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1992. She then graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1997 with a bachelor of science degree with an endorsement in Spanish/ESL.

Heather was united in marriage to Matthew Gideon on July 19, 1997, in Lincoln. The couple lived in Wood River. Heather taught Spanish and ESL at Grand Island Senior High, Ravenna Public Schools and Shelton Public Schools. For the past five years, she had owned and operated hg fotography in Wood River. She touched so many lives and made so many memories throughout her life.

Heather was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wood River. She enjoyed scrapbooking, photography and shopping. Most of all, Heather enjoyed her children and being a very important part of their activities and lives. Heather also appreciated and loved her “Hope Angels,” who helped so much and were there with her until the end.

Heather is survived by her husband, Matt Gideon of Wood River; sons, Tanner and Cauy; daughters, Sage and Ellie; her mother, Sue Smith of South Bend; her father and stepmother, Jim and Jan Harman of South Bend; her grandmother, Martha Smith of Lincoln; aunt and uncles, Brad and Sandy Harman of Lincoln and Dave and Pat Smith of Texas; grandmother-in-law, Alvena Katzberg of Wood River; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Joyce Gideon of Wood River; brothers and sisters-in-law and their families, Barry and Kristin Gideon and children, Jacob, Cole and Jack; Chad and Kristi Gideon and children, Cody and Gracee, and Brooke; and Corey Graves and children, Easton, Aiden, Reid and Emersyn; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather Jack Smith, grandfather Ralph Harman, grandmother June Harman and Uncle Chuck Smith.
