Grace “Sybil” Lanman, 92, of Cheyenne died Dec. 6 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Lanman was born Dec. 21, 1917, in Wood River, Neb., to John A. and Regina (Kaiser) Wade.
She graduated from Wood River High School and attended business college in Grand Island, Neb. She married William “Wayne” Lanman in Wood River on March 16, 1941. After her husband returned from World War II, they made their home in Wood River, where they worked for the Bank of Wood River. The family moved to Grand Island in 1956, where Mrs. Lanman was a homemaker and later worked for the Soil Conservation District. In 1989, the couple moved to Aurora, Colo., to be closer to their family, and then on to Cheyenne in March of 1998.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star. In later years she enjoyed volunteering at Arp Elementary School.
Mrs. Lanman is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jim House of Cheyenne; a son and daughter-in-law, Wendell and Joanne Lanman of Parker, Colo.; three granddaughters, Stephanie Braden and Krista Schmidt, both of Parker, and Regina Gray of Cheyenne; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; a brother; a sister; and her parents.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Trudy Robinson officiating.
Interment will be in the Wood River Cemetery in Wood River, on Friday.
