Mrs. Dick McKee, 69, a resident of Wood River for nearly half a century, died at a local hospital early this morning, following a lingering illness. Mrs. McKee was brought here for medical treatment September 5. Mrs. McKee was born at Shermansdale, Pa., October 23, 1864, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Martin. She moved to Ellisville, Ill., at the age of 17 and a year later came to Hall county. She was united in marriage to Dick V. McKee, July 25, 883, at the old Zachery Taylor farm, two miles north of Wood River, Dr. Gibson, a justice of peace, performing the ceremony. Following their marriage, Mr. McKee remained as a farm hand at the M. A. Namara farm near Wood River, while Mrs. McKee was employed as a cook at the old Ramsdell hotel, which stands but a block from the McKee residence. In the fall they took a residence in Wood River.
Besides the bereaved husband, she is survived by five children, Mrs. Dell Knox, of Long Beach, Cal., George R., Elza V., and Clifford E., all of this city; and Mrs. Dale Cross, of Wood River. Funeral services will be held at Wood River, Saturday, at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Wood River cemetery
