“In Town and Township – Wood River”
The remains of Mrs. N. P. Ramsdell were brought to Cairo Monday afternoon, being met there by Jerry Bowen and E. T. Rounds of this place and then brought to Wood River where the funeral was held in the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock, conducted by Rev. Leedom. After the death of her husband last November, Mrs. Ramsdell accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Moore, to her home in Sheridan, Wyoming where she has since made her home. She was sick but a short time and the news of her death came as a shock to her many Wood River friends. She was born at Rockford, Illinois, May 16, 1849, and was married on November 11th, 1866, to Nathaniel Ramsdell. In 1871 they moved to Wood River and have since made this their home until the death of her husband. She leaves the one daughter to mourn her death, a son dying in Colorado a few years ago. The remains were interred in the Wood River cemetery being accompanied here by Mr. and Mrs. Moore and little daughter. The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of all in their affliction.
