Wood River, Neb., Dec. 21 — Funeral services for Mrs. R. R. Root, 78, a long time resident of Wood River who died Monday at Cedar Falls, Ia., will be held at the Wood River Presbyterian church Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Keith Delap, pastor of the church, will conduct the services and burial will be in the Wood River cemetery. The body will arrive in Wood River today.
Mrs. Root was born at Zanesville, Ohio, to Mr. and Mrs. James Schick. The family moved to Wood River in 1878 where Mrs. Root grew to womanhood. She and Ross R. Root were married in Wood River. Mrs. Root was a member of the Wood River Presbyterian church and of Cement Chapter 115, Order of the Eastern Star of Wood River.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Daniel, Sulsun City, Cal.; Luther, San Francisco, Cal., and Frank, Cedar Falls, Ia.; one brother, Frank Schick, Wood River, and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Charles Perry, Mrs. Clarence Clark and Mrs. D. H. Johnson, all of Grand Island. Mrs. Root was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy, in 1925, and her parents.
