COZAD — Harold E. Bilslend, 90, of Wood River died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Golden Living Center in Cozad.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Saturday) at Shelton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darrel Holzinger officiating. Burial will be at Wood River Cemetery. Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
Harold was born on Dec. 21, 1924, in Kaw City, Okla., to Elmer and Ethel (Blackman) Bilslend. He lived in Colorado until he was 6 years old and then moved to the home place by Wood River, and lived there since then. He graduated from Wood River High School in 1942.
He married Patricia Felps on Dec. 21, 1951, in Hastings. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Shelton. He was also a member of the Elks Club and the Shelton School Board. He enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. Farming was truly his passion in life.
Survivors include his wife, Pat of Wood River; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Terri Bilslend of Grand Island and Ward and Donna Bilslend of Kearney; daughter, Nancy Wurst of Cozad; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Helen Bilslend of Shelton.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dallas Bilslend; brother, Loren Bilslend; and sister, Lucile Robinson.
