Harold L. Triplett, 86, of 113 Pletcher Terrace died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at the St. Francis Skilled Care Unit in Grand Island. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the O’Brien-Straatman Funeral Home in Kearney. The Rev. Paul Hoffrichter will officiate. Burial will be in the Wood River Cemetery. Mr. Triplett was born on March 15, 1915, in Kearney to Floyd and Sadie (King) Triplett. He grew up along the Platte River and attended Buda School. He married Inez Whipple on May 10, 1941, in Wood River. They farmed in the Kearney, Wood River, Doniphan and Miller areas. His wife died on May 17, 1987. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanett Zichek of Tucumcari, N.M. and Joyce (Porter) Moravek of Grand Island, one sister, Mecedes Morrison of Greeley, Colo., and three grandchildren. Other than his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, two sons, three brothers and two sisters.
