WOOD RIVER – Nelle G. Wilson, 88, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Wood River, died Monday, Feb. 8. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Wood River. The Rev. Nancy Kaye Skinner will officiate. Burial will be in Wood River Cemetery. Visitation was to be…at Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River. The casket will be open at the visitation and closed at the funeral. Memorials are suggested to the church or the donor’s choice.
Mrs. Wilson was born Sept. 27, 1899 at Altoona, Kan., the daughter of Adam and Louisa Moffatt Coats. She received her education in High Prairie, Kan. On Jan. 12, 1921, she married Aubrey Wilson at Fredonia. They lived in Kansas until moving to Lexington, Orleans and then to Wood River in 1957. Mr. Wilson died in 1973. She lived in Wood River until 1986, when she moved to Boise, Idaho, to be near her daughter. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Wood River, the Wood River Country Club and the Grand Island Saddle Club. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Wood River Women’s Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Windfield (Lou) Jones of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Dick Coats of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a son, Bill of Lakewood, Colo.; a grandson, Mike Wilson of Grand Island, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and two sisters.
